Documentalist

Audiovisual Documentalist

The documentalist/audiovisual documentalist is responsible for the complete lifecycle management of the organisation’s documentary and/or audiovisual resources. They ensure the quality, accessibility, and relevance of information for all internal and external users.

Main responsibilities

Here is a non-exhaustive list of tasks to be performed. This list may vary depending on the assignments and clients.

  • Monitor, select and acquire new documentary resources
  • Provide intellectual analysis of documents, including the drafting of analytical summaries or content notes
  • Perform indexing and classification of resources. Review, correct, and enrich descriptive metadata to optimise search results
  • Structure and organise the documentary resources within the database
  • Assist users and clients in their information search queries and traini them in the optimal use of tools and databases
  • Maintain the consistency and integrity of the database and ensure the application of documentation standards and guidelines
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of documentation tools and working methods.

Qualifications and experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree in information science, documentation and/or library science
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of direct experience in the field of information science, documentation and/or library science, either with all types of document formats, or specifically with audiovisual formats
  • Knowledge of information technologies, particularly in the field of databases and document management software
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English (level B2 to C1)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
