Exquando delivers first report on document management in major construction project

6/12/11

After a request for consultancy from an airport operating company, Exquando has now delivered a first report on managing documentation for a new construction project. The initial design phase of this three-year project will involve a consortium of Belgian and British companies.

Exquando co-ordinated proposals from four business partners who offer suitable document management platforms for engineering and construction projects. The solution chosen by the airport operators for this project is Buzzsaw from Autodesk, a company with a solid reputation in CAD systems and drawings communication. Buzzsaw is known for its emphasis on ease of use and quick project start-up, already a clear requirement from the project leader. RealDolmen, a well-established Belgian IT services company, will be providing general software services such as data replication between Buzzsaw and existing file systems. Exquando will deliver professional content services covering, for example, partner set-up and user training, document audits, e-tender, user support and integrated handover of all project documents from the partners to the company.

The next stage in this project will be to develop the collaborative knowledge map for the new team, with easy access to project information for stakeholders as the starting point. Exquando will draw up the Project Documentation Management Plan, defining the relationship between Buzzsaw and the document management system (SharePoint) already in place at the airport. The plan also defines how Buzzsaw will be used for communicating, reviewing and approving project information.

The client is keenly looking forward to working with a single, centralised platform for managing all project information. This will be the sole repository for approved documents, making it easy for all project partners to store and share up-to-date information with complete confidence. Partnership with a professional provider of content services guarantees easy start-up and administration and responsive support.

Exquando wins GSKBio Project Shared Service contract

4/01/10

GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals awarded its Shared Service contract to Exquando in October 2009.

GSK Biologicals has several construction projects in Europe, China and North America and thousands of engineers working together. It is recognized that project users sometimes have difficulties to fully adopt and use a project collaboration workspace. Experience at GSK and elsewhere shows that a service layer is required to obtain a sustainable return from such systems.

As a result, GSKBio Projects Engineering decided to launch a Project Workspace Shared Service. Thanks to this shared service, project users will get their project collaboration workspace up and running from the very beginning with the latest standards and procedures. They will also be supported during the whole project duration till the handover to reach maximum return and benefits from GSKBio project collaboration workspace.

Exquando is proud to have been designated as the official partner of GSKBio Projects Engineering and is looking forward to a fruitful and long-term collaboration.
